As Indonesia continues its push towards net-zero  emissions, the 2nd edition of Asiabike Jakarta (ABJ) in collaboration with PERIKLINDO Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) is set to accelerate the growth of the  sustainable mobility industry with expanded offerings. Scheduled for 29 April – 4  May 2025 at JlExpo Kemayoran, the show will bring together leading exhibitors  from China, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam. The addition of an electric three wheelers (E3Ws) zone at ABJ further enriches the existing selection of traditional bikes and electric two-wheelers. With heightened synergies, the event is poised to amplify its industry impact and drive the regional market for eco-friendly  transportation.

The inaugural edition of Asiabike Jakarta in 2024, the first ever trade fair organised by Messe Frankfurt dedicated to the two-wheeler sector, commenced with resounding success at the Jakarta International Expo. With more than 10,000 visits, the active participation of 97 exhibiting brands, and the presence of industry leaders at various fringe events, the show provided a premier platform for forging new partnerships, conducting business deals and exploring opportunities to accelerate Indonesia’s growing e-mobility sector.

Building on the momentum of its successful launch, ABJ in collaboration with PEVS 2025  promises a more extensive showcase to drive the green mobility industry forward. The  next edition of ABJ will continue to present a diverse array of products centred around the  three key themes of “E-evolution”, “E-mobility”, and “Lifestyle Cycling”, highlighting the  latest in renewable energy solutions and the wellness potential of every ride. The show  will highlight e-bikes, e-scooters, e-motorcycles, fashion items and accessories, and  advanced battery solutions. Returning exhibitors include DATAI, DIMENTRO, PHYLION,  SUNRA, TIANYING, and ZHIYANG, while other renowned industry players, such as  ADHERE, Ananda, DEGANG, DEGSON, DONGYUE, Engtian, Eve Battery, Forever,  Gaciron, GTAKE, HAIBAO, Hongjiali, HUAIHAI, Infypower, iReadyGo, Jinpeng, Julong,  KARASAWA, kehuan, KEYA ELEC, K-Lite, Leisheng, Made-in-China, MEIDI, Mpression,  Newport, OEM, OUTDO, Qianxin, Richtek, SPayLater, SULIDA, Tech, Wangye, Xinhao,  XUNDAH, XVE, Yixi, Yuanda, ZHONGXING, and ZHUFENG will make their debuts.

Indonesia has joined the global effort to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles. This is a key focus of the Indonesian government as it strives to achieve inclusive and sustainable transportation to reach its Net Zero Emission target by 2060. Several policies have been introduced, from presidential decrees to fiscal incentives, to boost the growth of the electric vehicle industry in Indonesia. The electric vehicle industry is currently experiencing rapid growth in various countries, including Indonesia.

China’s expanding influence in the regional Electric Two-Wheeler Market market

China’s expanding footprint in Southeast Asia’s e-mobility sector will be evident at the fair with a strong presence of Chinese manufacturers. Jiangsu province, a leading EV  production hub in the country, will be represented by two dedicated pavilions: one from  Wuxi, specialising in electric two-wheelers (E2Ws); and another from Xuzhou, renowned for its advanced E3Ws. Organised by the Jiangsu International Trade Promotion Center,

these pavilions will showcase an impressive array of cutting-edge technologies and cost effective solutions to help catalyse the transition towards a greener future.

Wuxi’s Xishan district, renowned as the “hometown of two-wheeled electric vehicles”, is  home to six of China’s top ten EV manufacturers, collectively accounting for one-third of the  domestic market share.1 At the upcoming fair, exhibitors from Xishan will present their high performance EV models, featuring innovative designs, advanced technology, and  comprehensive after-sales services.

Mr Stanley Luo, Business Manager at Jiangsu Zhongxing Motorcycle Co Ltd, one of the  leading manufacturers based in Xishan, enthused about the company’s return to the  show: “We are excited to introduce our e-motorcycle advancements in Indonesia,  including a new private model scooter that reflects our strong R&D capabilities. The show  offers valuable opportunities for us to gather feedback, track market trends, and refine our  design and pricing strategies. After last year’s successful participation, we look forward to strengthening our local sales network and our presence in Southeast Asia, as well as fostering deeper industry collaboration through this well-known industry event.”

Asiabike Jakarta (ABJ) 2025: New electric three-wheeler zone addresses urban logistics needs

In response to evolving transportation needs, the show has broadened its scope to feature E3Ws, including innovative multifunctional and solar-powered models. Xuzhou, China’s major production and R&D hub in this sector, will bring a wide range of E3Ws designed for  leisure, cargo, passenger transport, and last-mile delivery. With over 1,000 EV and  component manufacturers, Xuzhou boasts a highly integrated supply chain, generating an  annual production value exceeding USD 4.1 billion.

With the rise of e-commerce and urban logistics challenges, E3Ws are emerging as an  essential solution for reducing carbon emissions. Their compact design makes it easier to  move through busy city streets, while the ability to operate with a standard driving license  helps address driver shortages.

Among the many first-time exhibitors, Jiangsu Jinpeng Group Co Ltd will debut its  advanced E3W models, designed for efficient refrigerated transport over short distances. “We are thrilled to participate in this important event for the green mobility industry and introduce our latest E2Ws, E3Ws, and new energy transportation solutions to buyers from  Indonesia and beyond,” said Mr Kevin Zhang, Sales Manager at the company.

He added: “Southeast Asia’s economy is projected to grow by 5.1% annually over the next  decade, with key markets, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the  Philippines, and Vietnam, driving this increase. As cities continue to expand and develop,  the demand for small-scale mobility solutions is expected to rise. Indonesia, as a key  economic hub, presents strong opportunities for business growth. By participating at ABJ, we aim to establish a foothold in the region and contribute to the evolving urban mobility  landscape.”

A booming market for two- and three-wheeled EVs

The revenue of global electric two-wheeler market is projected to reach USD 45.9 billion  by 2032, following a CAGR of 21.7%.2In the same timeframe, the global E3Ws market is  expected to grow at a CAGR of 18% to reach USD 12.8 billion.3 Rapid urbanisation across Asia has resulted in increased traffic congestion, parking shortages, and heightened air  pollution4. To address these challenges, Indonesia has set a target of 12 million two and  three-wheeled EVs on the road by 20355. As the country accelerates its transition to  sustainable transportation, ABJ, with its expanded e-mobility offering, is set to play an  important role driving industry growth and innovation. With continued emphasis on  renewable energy solutions, it will serve as a vital nexus for stakeholders across the two  and three-wheeler value chain to explore market opportunities and forge partnerships in  this rapidly expanding sector.
