Electric Mustang by Charge Cars

by KEIJI

Charge Cars, a London-based technology startup, has reimagined the classic 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback into a luxury electric vehicle, by combining a classic design with EV tech.

The company specializes in the development of luxury and high-performance vehicles while preserving their iconic design. Charge Cars is aiming for an emission-free future while giving ultimate performance to epic cars.

The team includes engineers who have gained experience in various motorsport companies such as F1, McLaren Automotive, and Jaguar Land Rover.

Charge Cars work in close collaboration with recognised industry leaders like EV technology company Arrival, the world’s first AI racing platform Roborace and tyre manufacturer Michelin. These collaborations brings to their products the most advanced technologies and components including motors, power electronics, battery systems, intelligent software and stunning user interfaces.

Building on their key principles of safety, quality and performance, each vehicle starts its journey with a brand new, steel bodyshell licensed by Ford. Charge Cars designed body panels are then added – made from strong, lightweight composite materials manufactured by Arrival.

Additionally, other EV hardware including the drivetrain, gearbox, and inverters, are all designed and manufactured by Arrival.

Based on officially-licensed1967 Mustang

Charge Cars has built this car from scratch, and is not based on an existing vehicle. It is, however, based on an officially-licensed 1967 Mustang shell. The combustion engine has been replaced by an electric system delivering a peak output of 400 kilowatts (approximately 536 hp). Also, being able to deliver 1,500Nm of instant torque, combined with an all-wheel drive system, this Mustang gets you to 100km/h in only 3.9 seconds.

Bespoke interiors and modernised with the addition of sleek digital user interfaces, bucket seats, and premium finishing touches. The exterior of the Electric Mustangs minimise the use of in-house lightweight composite panels, while adding streamlining features for a new look while remaining true to the original car’s spirit & soul.

Limited Production of only 499 vehicles

Charge Cars are currently taking reservations for a limited series of only 499 brand-new electric 1960’s Mustangs. The officially licensed shells preserve the classic design and styling of the legendary Ford Mustang.

The luxury bespoke interiors, rich in ambience and detail, provide a modern high-end driving experience for connoisseurs of speed and technology. Equipped with state-of-the-art components and a personalised digital interface, these classic vehicles are back to cutting edge once again.

The price for this model starts at £350,000 and varies upon options and accessories included.

Ah…. masterpiece, not just piece of old junk restoration with all dead creature storage history. Neat interior with the hint of classic. Love it!
