FLITEBOARD unveils latest ElectricFoil with twice the power

by KEIJI

In 2021, Fliteboard set records for the fastest eFoil speed in the world at 34mph (55kmph/29 knots). The brand also hosted the first official international eFoiling race—The Flite Cup. This year, Flite ambassador tom court and big wave surfer Glynn Ovens even used the eFoils to surf the biggest waves ever ridden (Nazare) on an electric hydrofoil.

The Australian company has been busy setting records and upgrading its eponymous electric hydrofoil watercraft. Following the first Fliteboard and subsequent Fliteboard Series 2, the brand is back with series 2.2 and improvements to the board‘s performance, durability, and safety.

About the new Fliteboard ElectricFoil SERIES 2.2

Fliteboard’s latest series 2.2 launch introduces a range of innovations and sets a new benchmark for marine batteries, with industry-leading improvements to the Flitecell.

The new Flitecell features signature titanium plates, replacing the previous aluminium design. the titanium plates make Flitecell highly resistant to corrosion while also reducing the its weight and increasing impact resistance. Flite has introduced the same high quality 21700 cells as used in high-power applications such as Hypercars, providing incredible performance. phase-changing material (PCM) has also been introduced into the Flitecells, which provides enhanced thermal management.

Other Series 2.2 upgrades include a new Flite app, which is coming in 2022. Users can connect to Flite’s global community with leaderboards, competitions, and ride data never before seen in the electric marine watersports space; think Nike+ or Strava, but for eFoiling.

A new and improved Flite Controller 2.2 now has double the trigger range, providing intuitive control, and Flite’s already a quiet motor is now even quieter. The Byron Bay company has also redesigned the packaging with new streamlined travel bags that are 40% smaller for easy handling, with solid protection and compact design. Flite now offers an optional wing quiver bag to house all those extra wings.
