Singapore boasts an extensive network of more than 3,600 public charging points, as of the end of 2023. The predominant type is Level 2 AC chargers, known for their capacity to fully charge electric vehicles (EVs) within a range of 4 to 8 hours. Fast DC charging stations are also increasingly made available, with numerous charging networks providing expedited charging solutions. Furthermore, various private entities, including shopping malls, office buildings, and housing developments, are actively installing their dedicated charging stations to cater to the needs of their customers and employees.
Under the Singapore Green Plan 2030, the government has set up a comprehensive EV Roadmap to drive EV adoption. The accessibility of charging infrastructure is vital for encouraging EV adoption, and Singapore has set a target to have 60,000 EV charging points available by 2030. This includes working with the private sector to achieve 40,000 charging points in public carparks and 20,000 charging points in private premises. Every HDB town will also be an EV-Ready Town, with approximately 2,000 carparks to be equipped with charging points by 2025.

SP Group
SP Group is building Singapore’s largest public electric vehicle (EV) charging network, delivering accessible, reliable and seamless EV charging experience through our extensive network and enabled by digital technology.
Anchored upon their experience and capabilities operating a world-class power network, they are a pioneer of EV charging in Singapore. Beginning with the conversion of their own vehicle fleet to EVs in 2016, SP Group was one of the first to offer wide-scale EV charging to the public in 2018, even before the nationwide push for vehicle electrification. Currently, they are actively working with partners to roll out an extensive network of charging points. Among the partners they are working with include fleet operators, automotive partners, retail/commercial buildings, as well as residential dwellings.
SP Group chargers are located across the island at strategic points – downtown shopping centres, heartland malls, offices and even country clubs. 30% of their network features 50kW and 60kW DC charging points, meaning you can juice up your EVs in a short period of time.
Users can download the SP App, where they are able to check on charger availability, remote monitor their charging sessions, and get alerts when charging is complete.

Shell Recharge in Singapore can support both CCS (combined charging system) and Type 2 (43kW AC) connectors.
Shell Recharge offers rapid chargers which are 50kW chargers and typically charge most EVs in approximately 30 minutes. High-powered chargers are 150kW chargers and can deliver power up to three times faster. Fast chargers are usually either 7kW or 22 kW and so take longer to charge your car. These chargers are usually located in areas where the EV will be parked for a longer time (e.g. car parks).
