BYD’s DiSus Body Control System for New Energy Vehicle

by ElectricBlue

BYD, the world’s leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles (NEVs), unveiled the BYD DiSus Intelligent Body Control System, which represents a significant step forward for the company. The fully self-developed DiSus System is designed exclusively for NEVs and includes three branches: the Intelligent Damping Body Control System (DiSus-C), the Intelligent Air Body Control System (DiSus-A), and the Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System (DiSus-P).

BYD’s breakthrough in core NEV-related technologies has enabled them to research and master the intelligent body control system technology for NEVs, making them the first Chinese automobile manufacturer to own this technology. According to Mr. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, the BYD DiSus System marks a significant milestone for the company and secures its globally pioneering stance in the industry.

Unlike solutions that only focus on a single technology or a single component enhancement, the BYD DiSus System offers a comprehensive solution for vertical motion control. By taking advantage of NEVs’ electrification and intelligence, the DiSus System builds a system of perception, decision-making, and execution that significantly improves the driving experience.

The DiSus System also offers collaborative control in body dynamics, providing a foundation for the future development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Initially, the DiSus-P will be equipped on Yangwang U8, and the DiSus-A on DENZA N7. Several BYD HAN, BYD TANG, and DENZA models with hardware availability will be able to equip the DiSus-C through over-the-air (OTA) upgrade.

The BYD DiSus System ensures the vehicle is agile and effectively compatible in most driving scenarios, minimizing the risk of vehicle rollover and reducing the displacement of occupants during high-speed cornering, full-throttle acceleration, or emergency braking. Additionally, the system can protect the vehicle from scratches and damages under various road conditions such as snowy, muddy, and water areas.

The DiSus System is another technological breakthrough for BYD, following a series of key vehicle technologies, including the DM Super Hybrid technology, e-Platform 3.0, Blade Battery, and e4 Platform. The ultimate goal of the BYD DiSus System is to provide an intelligent and safe driving experience for its users, further uplifting the BYD brand image through cutting-edge NEV technology.

Finally, the reveal of DiSus-X showcased the Yangwang U9 equipped with the DiSus System’s ability to dance, jump, and drive even with only three wheels. As a global leader in new energy vehicles, BYD continues to drive technological advancement with a “technology-based, innovation-oriented” mindset, aspiring to take the development of Chinese new energy vehicles to the next level globally and providing technological innovations for a better life.
