Thailand becomes the inaugural ASEAN country to witness the highly awaited release of Volvo’s EX30, marking the official introduction of their first compact fully electric SUV for sale in the region.

The Volvo EX30 stands as the smallest SUV ever produced by the Swedish automaker, boasting dimensions of 4,233 mm in length, 1,837 mm in width, and 1,549 mm in height, all supported by a 2,650 mm long wheelbase. These measurements clearly position the EX30 as a more compact offering compared to its SUV counterparts like the C40 and XC40, and the upcoming EX90.

The all-electric SUV is available in three distinct variants: the Core Single Motor Extended Range, Ultra Single Motor Extended Range, and Ultra Twin Motor Performance. In Thailand, pricing for these models starts at 1,590,000 baht for the Core Single Motor Extended Range.

The Volvo EX30 Thailand models come equipped with an array of features including an 18-inch alloy rim, LED headlights, a one-zone climate control system, adjustable front seats, and a 12.3-inch mid-screen that controls various functions. Its infotainment system also seamlessly integrates with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Single Motor Extended Range variant goes a step further in enhancing comfort, offering additional features such as the Harman Kardon audio system, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, Lane Change Alert, and a panoramic roof.

The Single Motor variants, the Core and Ultra Single Motor Extended Range, are powered by an NMC battery consisting of lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt, known for its enhanced efficiency compared to the LFP variant. With this single-motor setup, they provide an impressive range of up to 480 km on a single charge.

Both of these variants employ a single motor delivering 268 hp and a torque of 343 Nm, resulting in acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h.

On the other hand, the Ultra Twin Motor Performance variant employs two electric motors that combine to produce a total power output of 422 hp and a maximum torque of 543 Nm. This robust setup allows the EX30 to achieve 0 to 100 km/h in a brisk 3.6 seconds, and it offers a range of up to 460 km according to the WLTP cycle.

The design of the Volvo EX30 is uniquely Scandinavian.

Volvo has repurposed recycled and recycled materials into the Volvo EX30, such as using fibers from jeans. and flex trees are used to make upholstery that gives it color and a unique, outstanding touch.

The layout emphasizes central control via a 12.3-inch touch screen on the dashboard that brings together vehicle control functions. Including important information for drivers for ease of use in one place. And with a design that focuses on allocating space to be able to used efficiently.

The entire dashboard of the Volvo EX30 is fitted with a Harman Kardon soundbar speaker system to efficiently allocate storage space in the cabin. Moreover, the result is surround sound quality that is no different from listening to your favorite songs or podcasts from your home audio system.

The Volvo EX30 comes with an infotainment system. and 5G connectivity for using the app Smooth, whether it’s Google Assistant, Google Maps navigation and Google Play, and for the first time with the wireless Apple CarPlay connection function.

Around 25 per cent of all aluminium, 17 per cent of all steel and plastics used in the EX30 are recycled.

Interior materials

Around 30 per cent of décor parts use recycled plastic, plus recycled and renewable surfaces.
