Kia’s award winning, first next-generation Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) EV6 is now officially open for booking in Malaysia.
The all-new EV6 features a luxurious interior with zero gravity Relaxion comfort seats, a Panoramic Curved Display, Meridian premium sound system, wireless charging tray and class-leading infotainment system.
Built on specialized Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with the latest Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technologies providing outstanding safety for the driver, occupants and pedestrians.
The first dedicated BEV produced with Kia’s all-new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) with a 2,900mm wheelbase is equipped with a dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) power delivery and 77.4 kWh battery that delivers up to an estimated driving range of up to 506km per full charge.
Physical highlight features includes its ‘Digital Tiger Face’ daytime running lights and a ‘sequential’ dynamic light pattern that evokes Kia’s ‘Tiger Nose Grille’ electrification era, and EV-grade specific tires.
Its Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) charging system enables the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that is capable of discharging up to 3.6 kWh of energy from the vehicle battery to power a range of lifestyle electronic accessories.

The interior houses a 12.3-inch infotainment that features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging and multi-Bluetooth connectivity, and a14-speaker Meridian surround audio system.Cabin built material includes sturdy fabrics created using recycled plastics. It has a storage area of 520 litres with the second-row seat in place and a front trunk which provides up to 20 litres for the model.
Standard safety features include: 7 SRS airbags (Front Driver & Passenger, Driver Knee, Side and Curtain), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), ISOFIX Child Restraint Anchor Points and Top Tethers as well as Hill-start Assist Control (HAC).
There’s also the Safe Exit Assist (SEA) system which automatically provide a warning and lock the door if an approaching vehicle from the rear side is detected within the blind spot.
Advanced safety features it comes equipped are: High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Assist (RCCA), Blind-Spot View Monitor (BVM), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW),cForward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) with Junction Turning, Lane Following Assist (LFA), and Smart Cruise Control (SCC).
Additionally, it comes with the Surround View Monitor (SVM) which displays 360-degree view camera around the car, and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) system which detects the parking space suitable of its size and automatically steers itself into the space through the surround-view cameras and ultrasonic sensors.
The EV6 made its global premiere on March 30 last year and has went on to win various awards including the 2022 Reddot “Best of the Best Car Design” award and the 2022 European Car of the Year award.
Locally it is priced at RM300,668 (sales tax exemption (SST) on the road (OTR) price without insurance for Peninsula Malaysia) with only one variant, the long range All-Wheel Drive (AWD) GT-Line, planned for availability with no other other models in the pipeline.
Currently an import (CBU) from South Korea, the colour line-up includes Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Runway Red, Yacht Blue and the exclusive Moonscape.
Delivery is epected to begin at the end of Q3 of this year. The first wave of allocation have been completely taken up with more stock on the way.
It comes with a 5 years manufacturer warranty (or first 150,000km), whichever comes first. Its battery warranty coverage is up to 7 years or 150,000km, whichever comes first.
