Fast Auto Show 2023 & EV Expo

The FAST Auto Show 2023 and EV Expo Thailand, taking place at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (Bitec) from July 5-9, will feature a wide range of vehicles including new cars, used cars, and electric vehicles (EVs).

This year, the event’s organiser, King of Auto Product Co Ltd, has decided to expand the show area to give prominence to the growing popularity of electric vehicles in Thailand. Pattanadesh Asasappakij, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, mentioned that the show has experienced growth in various aspects, with increased participation from automobile companies. To accommodate the display of new and used cars as well as EVs, the total show area has been expanded from 15,000sqm to 20,000sqm.

In addition to new and used cars, the spotlight of this year’s event will be on electric vehicles offered by MG, Great Wall Motor, NETA, and BYD. Pattanadesh explained that the Thai market has responded positively to EVs, prompting the allocation of an additional 5,000sqm of show space for these vehicles. Alongside sales, the event will also feature an EV testing zone and an EV educational zone.

Pattanadesh further mentioned that used car dealers will present models from various segments, ranging from eco cars to supercars. He emphasized that the vehicles showcased by these dealers are in excellent condition with low mileage and adhere to five basic rules: no fire, no flood, no modification, no heavy accidents, and legitimate ownership. These rules have been a key selling point of the show over the past decade.

Regarding the overall economic situation in Thailand, Pattanadesh expressed optimism, stating that the country’s economy has significantly improved since the smooth elections. The tourism sector is on the path to recovery, and there are expectations of reaching pre-Covid levels of tourist arrivals, which will bring substantial capital into the country. This, in turn, bolsters confidence in the growth of the Thai economy, as well as the automotive sector.
